This stick certainly has a story. It all began on my last night in Salzburg June 6th, 2007. That night I handed a good friend a bag with a few parting gifts, things I had accumulated in Salzburg but had no room to bring back to the States in my luggage. On the way home, my friend was attacked and dropped my bag on Linzergasse and left it behind. My friend was shaken up but ok. The kind soul whose house this bag ended up in front of, mailed the bag to my old dormitory in Salzburg, based on the address on my deregistration form. A friend at the dormitory kept the box till October, when she and several other friends of mine came to my wedding in New Jersey and brought the bag along. This memory stick was in the bag and now I will pass it along.

HEy. My name is Claudia. I got the stick in February.. I believe.. when two couchsurfer stayed at my place in London, both from Austria. They left some data on the stick.. I deleted most of it (I was told so - also the format was unknown to my pc, they had used it as a personal usb device.. its very handy to use it as such..) I kept one of their files on the stick though, I really like it, its called: “besserungsanstalt” (spoken text) about nowadays passive society taken over by television. So how did it get to Germany.. well, I was going to pass it on as soon as possible, with the next couchsurfer even, but exams began.. and after exams I moved back to Germany.. and when I was sending stuff to Kanada I thought I should really pass the stick on to Kanada, but I could not find it (my room filled with boxes from mooving back and forth to places) - last week however I found it! It was in a small bag with beads and necklesses and earrings. So, I have been thinking what to put on the stick.. and where to send it to. For a long time (half a year) I meant to send a little parcel with pictures and books to my friend in Brasil (Belo Horizonte) - I was going to burn all these things on dvd, but now I will put some pictures and some of the short video clips I have made in the last two years on the stick and send it to her!
on the stick is now: sound file: besserungsanstalt, videos: csd berlin 2007 (a short clip about the gay street festival in berlin) , new adventures anywhere (a clip about cycling to university in london - the speed of london), pretzien (it shows the lake next to which I live), Berlin roofs (a short clip, waking up on a roof) and fusion festival 2007 (a video clip about the last festival I have been to)
well, I hope she will pass it on

I brought the stick to my new home in Melbourne, Australia. I’ll soon pass it on to a colleague at the uni to provide her with research software - not so exciting. However I hope this stick wins the price for travelling the longest distance from Austria

Hello, I was given the stick from my girlfriend when I went visited her in Austria. She said about the project and I thought what a great idea, to be able to share stuff for others to see. I found a friend of hers had put some things on which I thought was good, gave me an idea on the kinds of things which one can add. So the images I have chosen to share are pictures I have taken, graphics I have done, and scanned crop circle images I have found to be amazing! I think all the images have an energy so I have put a music file in there too, it kind of echoes this feeling. I think its one of or the best rock tracks ever. When she comes to England soon I shall return it to her.

i got this stick from a subnet member and passed it on to dan, a friend of mine, who is musician, studio technician and vegetarian in melbourne, australia… i met dan while traveling in the USA in ´97, we went on a railway trip with AMTRACK for a whole month. we started out in san francisco, went to los angeles - el paso - houston - new orleans - chicago - madison and finally went back to s.f. … i haven´t met him since. summer ´06 he and his girlfriend travelled to eastern europe. their trip took them to russia, poland, vienna where we hooked up for a couple of days, france and ended in spain. i spent two weeks in andalusia then as well, so my contribution to start the journey of USB 097 is of course: pictures of spain! have a nice trip around the globe, be well, keep on being passed on!
It was nice to have Christoph send me two flash sticks all the way to Kampala, Uganda. Well, since i spend a good amount of time in tanzania, i decided to have one stick do rounds in Kampala and another in Kagera region where am based. Well, its quite a while without using the stick.
Recently, students results were released via the web. At our telecentre in Kagera, a flood of eager students, parents and headteachers were all moving up and down to check on their performances. It was during this rush time, that i picked up this stick lying bare on my work table, saved an entire school’s performance on it and passed it on to my colleague to make a print out as i went with handling another client. Its then that i realised that i had just passed it on.. 
My colleague has not handed it back but am faced with the task of explaining down-to earth what the flash stick is all about. Its a very nice looking stick which everybody wants to keep for good.
If i get it back, i hope to read some swahili stories on it, probably, viruses and spam would also be part of the package!

I’ve found that stick in plactis bag. It had a letter with it which told be that I was the starting point. So there was nothing on it. I did as the letter told me, I’ve put something on, and I am going to pass it on. I found it on friday the 9th Feburary in the Mark Kultur. I thouhgt it was an interesting porject, so I was pleased to found a stick. I put a song from an french artist, Camille, on and a text of mine. I am now looking on the streets for a stranger, who seems sypmatic and interesting to me.

So, jetzt hab ich grad den Stick aufgedrängt bekommen, von Christian glaub ich, der mit den coolen MacBook. Anyways, was auf den Stick kommt weiß ich noch nicht so recht. Ein paar Schriftliche Sachen von mir glaub ich, ein paar Fotos von mir, den Huskies, Jazzit natürlich und so Sahcen. Und dann werd ich den Stick an Johnny weitergeben der ihn dann nächste Woche nach Frankreich bringen kann.

i grabbed the stick at subnet office because i needed temporary space for sharing some scripts of a collague course. i leave that mathematical pdfs on the sticks and put the noob song onto it. its about online gaming ownage, which i’m really into =)
